Here, he created a large number of town vedute before he was accepted into the painters' guild in 1746. His townscapes were rich in detail and depicted sometimes imaginary subjects from Naples, Venice, and Paris, which were partly modeled on Melchior Küsel's 'Iconographia'. His elaborate color etching technique makes his verre églomisé works unique. This richly illustrated and illuminating book is the first to present all of Baumgartner's 22 known verre églomisé vedute SN - 9783422071377 LA - German N1 - herausgegeben von Georg Haindl und Christof Trepesch ; mit Beiträgen von Simone Bretz, Oliver Hahn, Berno Heymer, Yves Jolidon, Julia Quandt und Josef Strasser ID - 716838869 ER -
