By combining the shock compression technique together with X-ray diffraction (XRD) and velocity interferometer (VISAR), the structural phase changes along their Hugoniot of (Mg,Fe)O and FeO under high pressure and temperature were probed up to 270 GPa. The solid-liquid boundary of FeO and the B1-B2 phase transition of (Mg,Fe)O could be observed. These conditions could occur in super-Earths with deeper core-mantle boundaries and the phase transition could influence the rheological properties of the mantle.
