TY - BOOK AU - Rothenbücher, Christoph PY - 2024 DA - 2024// TI - end of history and the last confucian: China’s role in the reproduction of world order PB - Universität Rostock CY - Rostock AB - The dissertation explores the role China plays in the international order. The research is motivated by the BRI and its foundations in the political philosophy of the People's Republic of China. The core chapters analyze Chinese IR theory, focusing first on Qin Yaqing, Zhao Tingyang, and Yan Xuetong. Their work is then contrasted with that of Shih Chih-yu, L.H.M. Ling, and other scholars, who offer differing perspectives on subjectivity. This discussion ultimately leads to a hybridization of conventional and Chinese IR concepts, resulting in a transcultural model of international relations.
