This study investigates Heart Rate Variability (HRV) as an objective biomarker for Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). A comparison between patients and healthy controls during a simulated EMDR therapy revealed significantly reduced activity in the LF (Low Frequency) and HF (High Frequency) frequency bands in those affected. The results demonstrate that HRV is a valuable tool for analyzing the autonomic nervous system and for the objective differentiation of PTSD patients.
