TY - BOOK AU - Joseph dit Choisnard, Noémie PY - 2024 DA - 2024// TI - Exploring the nitrogen cycle of the Amazon shelf and river plume PB - Universität Rostock CY - Rostock AB - Human activities have changed the global N cycle, increasing N fluxes into the ocean, particularly affecting vulnerable coastal zones. Along the Amazon River Plume, sediments potentially act as both a source and sink of DIN. While denitrification appears to be a significant loss process in sediment, nitrification dominates in the water column. This study's findings draw an N-budget of the Amazon estuary based on rates of N cycle pathways, providing baseline knowledge for environmental management and conservation efforts amidst climate change and human-induced alterations to the N cycle.
