At his, in vitro proliferation assays showed that the application of CD271+ stem cells results in improved angiogenic potential and the combination of CD133+ and CD271+ cells seems to be the most effective approach. Furthermore, an in vivo analysis has been performed in a mouse-model with ligation of the left anterior descendent artery.
