AB  - Beach wrack is a worldwide nuisance at beaches. Its removal is expensive and an ecological problem. Despite this, there is little information on the quantities, species composition and decomposition processes of this material. The experiments carried out here were intended to help to close these knowledge gaps and investigate biomass, species composition and decomposition processes with influencing abiotic parameters. Knowledge of the decay processes help to reduce costs of removal and to develop more environmentally friendly management plans for the future.<eng>
