Results of performance tests showed hybrid candidates that can deliver a higher yield by growing with increased plant density. Segregation analyses for the trait "plant height" indicate that it is under monogenic control. 22 candidate genes were sequenced and SNPs were identified. Association studies revealed significantly associated SNPs. Two SNPs in the HaGID1B gene could be verified and thus be regarded as potential molecular markers for plant architecture.
