The influence of light on ad- and desorption of CO2 was investigated on different zinc oxide, titania and cerium zirconium oxide nanomaterials by means of DRIFTS and TPD method. The phenomenon of “IR-Blackening” was observed and found to be caused by interaction between phonons and electrons. No direct influence of UV-Irradiation on adsorption of CO2 on zinc oxide was confirmed, while on titania the preference changed under irradiation.
