The zeolite catalysts were used for the direct synthesis of phenol and the reaction conditions have been optimized for improving the yield of phenol. To develop novel catalyst compositions metal-doped zeolite catalysts were applied for initial catalyst screening tests. All metals (1 wt% each) belonging to 3d series (i.e. starting from Sc to Zn) and Pd, Ru were impregnated separately onto the ZSM-5 support and tested. Twelve different monometallic catalysts were investigated.
