  <abstract type="Summary">Das LEW.1AR1-iddm Rattenmodell entwickelt einen Typ 1 Diabetes mellitus. In der prädiabetischen Phase sollte geklärt werden, ob sich im Blut entzündungsrelevante Gene während der Zerstörung insulinproduzierender Zellen des Pankreas nachweisen lassen und ob sich eine RIB5/2-Antikörperbehandlung auf den Prozess der T1DM-Entwicklung auswirkt. Ergebnis war, dass Genexpressionsprofile von Blutzellen als Biomarker für unterschiedliche Stadien der β-Zellautoimmunität dienen können. Der Präventionsansatz ergab, dass eine frühe immunmodulatorische RIB5/2-AK-Behandlung zum Ausbleiben eines T1DM führt.&lt;ger&gt;</abstract>
  <abstract type="Summary">The LEW.1AR1-iddm rat animal model develops a autoimmune diabetes (T1DM) with beta cell destruction. Aim of this study: Investigation of predictive potential of gene expression profiling in peripheral blood and tolerance-inducing effects through treatment by the modulating antibody RIB5/2 in the prediabetic period. Results were, inflammatory gene expression profiles in PBMCs may serve as surrogate markers for different stages of islet inflammation in T1DM. Diabetes preventing antibody RIB5/2 treatment could induce tolerance against beta cell autoimmunity with specific gene signatures in blood.&lt;eng&gt;</abstract>
