This thesis investigates the successional development of biocrust and shifts in their phototrophic community along dune chronosequences. The study revealed that thin microalgae-biocrusts dominated younger dunes. On more stabilized dunes, macrophytic cryptogams were found. The input of organic biomass into the dunes allows for further soil development. Observed soil-forming processes confirm parent material transformation through mineral weathering, including shifts in the phosphorus pools. Biocrusts have the potential to influence the physicochemical conditions of their surrounding habitat.<eng>
In jüngeren Dünen dominieren dünne Mikroalgen-Biokrusten.
