  <abstract type="Summary">If plant seeds survive the biogas production chain, weed problems could arise. The extent to which seeds from wild plants can survive anaerobic digestion (AD) and ensiling was investigated. AD reduced seed viability, with the extent of the reduction being determined by an interplay of seed characteristics and process parameters. Responses of seed viability ranged from complete inactivation to a steep decline after a lag phase to an initial increase in viability (hormesis). Ensiling did not completely inactivate any of the tested species with physical dormancy, but all of them without it.&lt;eng&gt;</abstract>
  <abstract type="Summary">Wenn Pflanzensamen die Biogasproduktionskette überleben, können Unkrautprobleme entstehen. Es wurde untersucht, inwieweit Wildpflanzen-Samen anaerobe Vergärung (AD) und Silierung überleben können. AD reduzierte die Samen-Lebensfähigkeit. Wechselwirkungen zwischen Sameneigenschaften und Prozessparametern bestimmten das Inaktivierungsausmaß: vollständige Inaktivierung, Rückgang nach einer Lag-Phase oder anfänglicher Anstieg der Lebensfähigkeit (Hormesis). Die Silierung inaktivierte keine der getesteten Arten mit physikalischer Dormanz vollständig, jedoch alle ohne diese.&lt;ger&gt;</abstract>
