  <abstract type="Summary">Biogas production faces high costs and dependence on government incentives. In Germany, the sector's sustainability is challenged by reduced bonuses and changes in crop cultivation policies. This study focuses on enhancing efficiency through advanced reactor technologies like the expanded granular sludge bed (EGSB), particularly for cow and pig manure digestion. Findings suggest that integrating EGSB reactors and optimizing anaerobic co-digestion processes can significantly improve profitability by maximizing methane yield and production rates, suggesting a path toward financial viability.&lt;eng&gt;</abstract>
  <abstract type="Summary">Biogas aus anaerober Vergärung ist umweltfreundlich, aber teuer in der Produktion. Die Branche benötigt Effizienzsteigerungen und staatliche Unabhängigkeit. Neue Technologien wie der expanded granular sludge bed-Reaktor (EGSB-Reaktor) könnten durch kleinere Reaktorgrößen Kosten senken. Studien zeigen, dass EGSB-Reaktoren effektiver als traditionelle Systeme sind, besonders in Kombination mit Co-Vergärung, die die Wirtschaftlichkeit verbessert. Die Forschung betont die Wichtigkeit von Innovationen zur Kostensenkung und Effizienzsteigerung in der Biogasproduktion.&lt;ger&gt;</abstract>
