This thesis aims to improve the feeding protocol for pikeperch larvae studying the effect of rotifers, copepod, micro Artemia, Artemia sp., and microdiets on pikeperch. Improvement in survival and growth rates during the initial life stage was achieved with rotifers. Apocyclops panamensis resulted in increased growth rates after rotifers. Pikeperch fatty acids served as a quality indicator. Live feed must provide linoleic acid during the first 7 days and docosahexaenoic acid from day 11 post hatch. This thesis established a balanced lipid phenotype for pikeperch larvae and juveniles in RAS.<eng>
