La política democrática es inimaginable sin partidos políticos. Simultáneamente los partidos son las instituciones políticas más cuestionadas del mundo. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar ésta paradoja y responder a la pregunta: ¿Cuáles son las consecuencias de los cambios en los sistemas de partidos sobre la democracia? y descifrar si el futuro de la democracia se encuentra atado al desprestigio de los partidos políticos. Para ello analiza a profundidad el sistema de partidos venezolano en perspectiva comparada con los países de Latinoamérica.<spa>
Democratic politics is unimaginable without Political Parties. Where Parties do not exist or are very weak, Democracy does not function well (Mainwaring, 2018), yet at the same time, Parties are the most questioned political institutions. This Dissertation aims to analyse this paradox and answer the question: What are the consequences of changes in Party Systems on Democracy? and unravel whether the future of democracy is tied to the discredit of Parties. For this, it analyses in depth the Venezuelan Party System in perspective compared to Latin America through a statistical analysis.<eng>
