Die alkaline Phosphataseaktivität wird seit den 70er Jahren in der aquatischen Ökologie als Indikator für eine Phosphorlimitation in Phytoplanktongemeinschaften eingesetzt. Die Indikatorfunktion beruht darauf, dass viele Phytoplankter unter niedrigen Phosphatkonzentrationen die Synthese von alkalinen Phosphatasen induzieren. In dieser Dissertation wurde die Indikatorfunktion anhand von drei, ökologisch sehr unterschiedlichen, Gewässern neu bewertet. Es werden Empfehlungstipps gegeben wie die AlkPA-Messungen durchgeführt werden sollten, um Missinterpretationen der Ergebnisse zu minimieren.<ger>
The alkaline phosphatase activity (AlkPA) has been used in aquatic ecology since the 1970s as an indicator of phosphorus limitation in phytoplankton communities. The indicator function is based on the fact that many phytoplankton species induce the synthesis of alkaline phosphatases under low phosphate concentrations. In this dissertation, the indicator function was reassessed on the basis of three ecologically very different bodies of water. Recommendations are given on how the AlkPA measurements should be done to minimize misinterpretations of the results.<eng>
