  <abstract type="Summary">The present thesis comprises catalytic and mechanistic studies of the value-adding transformation of carbon dioxide into i) carbon monoxide and methane by hydrogenation of CO2 over potassium-modified Rh/Al2O3 catalysts as well as ii) 1-propanol, 1-butanol and iso-butanol by reaction of CO2 with hydrogen and olefins over Au/TiO2 and Au/SiO2 catalysts modified with alkali metals. For elucidating the specific role of the catalyst components related to catalyst activity and selectivity as well as reaction mechanism in situ and operando FTIR spectroscopic investigations have been carried out.&lt;eng&gt;</abstract>
  <abstract type="Summary">Die vorliegende Arbeit umfasst katalytische und mechanistische Untersuchungen zur wertsteigernden Umwandlung von CO2 in a) CO und CH4 durch Hydrierung an mit K modifizierten Rh/Al2O3 Katalysatoren und b) 1-Propanol, 1-Butanol und iso-Butanol an mit K und Cs dotierten Au/TiO2 und Au/SiO2 Katalysatoren durch Reaktion von CO2 mit H2 und Olefinen (Ethen oder Propen). Zur Aufklärung der spezifischen Rolle der Katalysatorkomponenten bezüglich der Katalysatoraktivität und -selektivität sowie des Reaktionsmechanismus wurden in situ- und operando-FTIR-spektroskopische Untersuchungen durchgeführt.&lt;ger&gt;</abstract>
