Hitherto, no detailed information on the composition and diversity of chemolithoautotrophic assemblages exist. Applying RNA-SIP Epsilonproteobacteria, closely related to Sulfurimonas denitrificans, and sulfur-oxidizing Gammaproteobacteria were identified as chemoautotrophs in sulfidic water layers of two different marine pelagic redoxclines. Furthermore, the mixotrophic uptake of pyruvate by a chemolithoautotrophic Epsilonproteobacterium isolated from a Baltic Sea redoxcline was successfully proven. %L 570 %9 theses %9 Text %9 Hochschulschrift %U http://rosdok.uni-rostock.de/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-diss2010-0162-6 %U http://rosdok.uni-rostock.de/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-diss2010-0162-6&pdf %U http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-diss2010-0162-6 %U http://d-nb.info/101053050X/34 %U http://rosdok.uni-rostock.de/metadata/rosdok_disshab_000000000529
