The study focuses on the Oder River outflow to the Baltic Sea, analysing nutrient concentrations, transformation processes and fluxes over a seasonal cycle and along the land-ocean continuum. The data indicate high nutrient retention, supported by long water residence times and shallow depths, as well as nutrient recycling and sediment-water interactions. Thus, retention processes in the Oder outflow are crucial for altering and subsequently removing riverine nutrients, which counteracts eutrophication. %L 500 %9 theses %9 Text %9 Hochschulschrift %R 10.18453/rosdok_id00005048 %U https://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00005048 %U https://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-rosdok_id00005048-0 %U https://d-nb.info/1387205463/34 %U https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00005048
