Using the Brunn-Minkowski theorem, exact values for the second virial coefficients of convex solids can be obtained in arbitrary dimensions of space. Therefore, these are exemplarily calculated for solids of revolution and polytopes. For the calculation of higher-order virial coefficients, optimized Monte Carlo simulations are used. The obtained results provide access to equation-of-state data via the virial series. %L 500 %9 theses %9 Text %9 Hochschulschrift %R 10.18453/rosdok_id00004914 %U https://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00004914 %U https://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-rosdok_id00004914-5 %U https://d-nb.info/1377772780/34 %U https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00004914
