This dissertation explores the impacts of rewetting drained coastal peatlands on submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) and groundwater quality. SGD was quantified from a coastal peatland on different temporal scales. It was revealed that submarine peat extension plays an important role in SGD location and that sea level determines SGD variability. Moreover, groundwater monitoring of peatlands showed increasing dissolved carbon concentrations in shallow peat wells after seawater input from a storm surge and seawater rewetting. %L 550 %9 theses %9 Text %9 Hochschulschrift %R 10.18453/rosdok_id00004902 %U https://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00004902 %U https://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-rosdok_id00004902-5 %U https://d-nb.info/1375312286/34 %U https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00004902
