This thesis explored soil hydro-physical properties and their spatial characteristics from different peatlands in Germany. Spatial variability of soil properties differed with investigated properties and peatland degradation stages. Soil anisotropy affected water movement and solute transport. Microtopography influenced organic carbon accumulation and nutrient leaching. Formulating rewetting plans and assessing rewetting efforts required considering soil properties and their spatial information, particularly in nutrient release hotspots. %L 550 %9 theses %9 Text %9 Hochschulschrift %R 10.18453/rosdok_id00004670 %U https://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00004670 %U https://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-rosdok_id00004670-8 %U https://d-nb.info/1342194233/34 %U https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00004670
