CO2 methanation was investigated on Ru/TiO2 und Ru/ZrO2 catalysts with Ru < 1 wt.%. CO production was investigated on Au/ZrO2 and Au/TiO2 catalysts with < 0.1 wt.% Au. Notably the most O-defective catalysts showed the highest rates. In-situ spectroscopic assessments revealed distinct electronic metal-support interactions induced by electron transfer from the defects to the supported metal entities. This effect is proposed as driver for the catalytic enhancement. %L 540 %9 theses %9 Text %9 Hochschulschrift %R 10.18453/rosdok_id00004614 %U https://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00004614 %U https://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-rosdok_id00004614-6 %U https://d-nb.info/1334986525/34 %U https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00004614
