Darst. The wind forcing in the Benguela upwelling system (BUS) is of particular importance since the south east trade winds drive upwelling. For a few years, remotely sensed wind data reveals very persistent pattern in the wind forcing in the BUS including spatial inhomogeneities of a few hundred kilometers.
