Thereby, mainly pincer ligands coordinated to a manganese(I) metal center were used while corresponding noble metal analogues already have demonstrated good activities in different reductions of organic compounds. Manganese(I) was used as a metal center because of its high abundance, low price and only minor toxicity in comparison to other noble metals.<eng> Die vorliegende Dissertation beschäftigt sich mit der Synthese neuartiger, nicht edelmetallbasierender Metallkomplexe. Diese wurden in katalytischen Reaktionen wie der (asymmetrischen) Reduktion von prochiralen Ketonen oder Estern zu den entsprechenden Alkoholen eingesetzt. In den katalytischen Untersuchungen fanden hauptsächlich Pincer-Liganden, koordiniert an ein Mangan(I)-Metallzentrum, Anwendung.
