abstract="The book documents the history of the legendary S{\'a}mi artist collective M{\'a}zejoavku (1978-1983), and deals with the importance of the group historically and also in relation to other S{\'a}mi artists and Indigenous collectives and practitioners globally today. The S{\'a}mi Artist Group was the first generation of young S{\'a}mi artists to regain pride in their S{\'a}mi heritage, to express their S{\'a}miness freely, and to reclaim a renewed space within S{\'a}pmi by advocating and negotiating S{\'a}mi thinking and being through the arts. The book is based on individual interviews and extensive research by author Susanne H{\ae}tta. In addition it includes a rich selection of archival photographic material, as well as texts by Yorta Yorta curator and writer Kimberley Moulton, Spanish/British art historian Katya Garc{\'{\i}}a-Ant{\'o}n and S{\'a}mi scholar and duoj{\'a}r Liisa-R{\'a}vn{\'a} Finbog. The publication is edited by Katya Garc{\'{\i}}a-Ant{\'o}n, and is co-published by Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA) and the S{\'a}mi publishing house DAT. {\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_}{\_} Boken handler om det samiske kunstnerkollektivet M{\'a}zejoavku/Masigruppen (1978-1983) og deres betydning betydning historisk i relasjon til andre samiske kunstnere, samt urfolkskollektiver og ut{\o}vende kunstnere globalt. M{\'a}zejoavku var f{\o}rste generasjon samiske kunstnere som med stolthet {\aa}pent stod frem med sin bakgrunn, hevdet sin rett til {\aa} v{\ae}re samer, og re-definerte og h{\o}ynet statusen for samisk kunst. Boken er tuftet p{\aa} personlige intervjuer og omfattende forskning av forfatteren Susanne H{\ae}tta. I tillegg har den et rikt billedmateriale og tekstbidrag fra Yorta Yorta-kurator og skribent Kimberley Moulton, forsker og duoj{\'a}r Liisa-R{\'a}vn{\'a} Finbog, samt den spansk-britiske kunsthistorikeren Katya Garc{\'{\i}}a-Ant{\'o}n, som ogs{\aa} har v{\ae}rt bokens redakt{\o}r.
