In the absence of tides, the basin-scale energetics were governed by wind-generated, low-mode, near-inertial wave motions. A large storm increased the energy in the entire internal wave frequency range, especially near the buoyancy frequency. This thesis shows that internal waves were energetic at a wide range of frequencies and the main mixing mechanism in the interior of the deep Baltic Sea basin.", note="vorgelegt von Eefke Marijn Van der Lee", note="Rostock, Univ., Mathematisch-Naturwiss.
