@Book{1986876470, author="Lubyk, Kateryna", title="Modelling of mid-latitude ionospheric trough location and dynamics using multi-frequency radio sounding and in-situ observations", year="2025", address="Germany; Rostock", abstract="The mid-latitude ionospheric trough (MIT) is a nighttime electron density depletion at subauroral latitudes that can affect trans-ionospheric radio systems, including GNSS. Using long-term electron density data from GRACE and Swarm and TEC data from IGS Global Ionosphere Maps, this study analyzes MIT position, width, depth, and occurrence in both hemispheres under varying solar and geomagnetic conditions. A statistical MIT model was developed and evaluated during the May 2024 Mother's Day storm, demonstrating its ability to reproduce smoothed trough behavior.", school="Universit{\"a}t Rostock", note="vorgelegt von Kateryna Lubyk", note="GutachterInnen: Andreas Wehrenpfennig (Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences) ; Claudia Stolle (Leibniz Institute of Atmospheric Physics, University of Rostock) ; Elena Kronberg (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit{\"a}t M{\"u}nchen)", note="Dissertation Universit{\"a}t Rostock 2025", doi="10.18453/rosdok_id00005886", url="https://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00005886", url="https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00005886", language="English" }
