This thesis investigates implantable thermoelectric generators (ITEGs) that convert body heat into electricity for self-sustaining IMDs. A novel design using a biocompatible PEEK housing with integrated heat conductors was proposed. Comprehensive simulations employed simplified and detailed human models to optimize performance. For fabrication, a novel method created TEGs with high-aspect-ratio thermolegs, maximizing power. A compact TEG with an integrated boost converter was also developed.", school="Universit{\"a}t Rostock", note="vorgelegt von Yongchen Rao", note="GutachterInnen: Dennis Hohlfeld (University of Rostock) ; Tamara Bechtold (Jade University of Applied Sciences) ; Georg Frey (Saarland University)", note="Dissertation Universit{\"a}t Rostock 2025", doi="10.18453/rosdok_id00005497", url="https://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00005497", url="https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00005497", language="English" }
