@Book{1739014006, author="Hanusch, Adrian", title="Particle acceleration at collisionless shocks: hybrid simulations in the era of high-precision cosmic ray observations", year="2020", address="Rostock", abstract="Recent precise measurements of cosmic ray (CR) spectra reveal features that challenge the hypothesis of CR origin. The results of hybrid simulations focused on the injection phase of the diffusive shock acceleration (DSA) and analytic modeling provide an explanation for an ``anomaly'' in the measured CR rigidity spectra. Moreover, the simulations have captured a new phenomenon in the DSA: the spectrum steepening associated with the variation of shock obliquity along its face. Both results make a step forward to reconcile the DSA with high-precision observations.", school="Universit{\"a}t Rostock", note="vorgelegt von Adrian Hanusch", note="GutachterInnen: Tatyana Liseykina (Universit{\"a}t Rostock / Moscow, Russia, Nikolsky Institute of Mathematics, RUDN) ; Dieter Bauer (Universit{\"a}t Rostock) ; Luke Drury (Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies)", note="Dissertation Universit{\"a}t Rostock 2020", doi="10.18453/rosdok_id00002815", url="http://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00002815", url="https://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-rosdok_id00002815-2", url="https://d-nb.info/1293661422/34", url="https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00002815", language="English" }
