However, various micro-anatomical factors have not been considered in the state of the art models while studying the interaction between the applied electric field and the auditory nerve. The present finite element modeling study suggests that the modiolus porosity and tissue heterogeneity significantly alter the electric field distribution in the Rosenthal's canal and thereby affect the cochlear implant functionality.", school="Universit{\"a}t Rostock", note="vorgelegt von Kiran Kumar Sriperumbudur", note="GutachterInnen: Ursula van Rienen (Universit{\"a}t Rostock, Institut f{\"u}r Allgemeine Elektrotechnik) ; Hans Wilhelm Pau (Universit{\"a}tsmedizin Rostock, Klinik und Poliklinik f{\"u}r Hals-Nasen-Ohren-Heilkunde, Kopf- und Halschirurgie ``Otto K{\"o}rner'') ; Anthony Gummer (Universit{\"a}tsklinikum T{\"u}bingen, Hals-Nasen-Ohren-Klinik) ; Sascha Spors (Universit{\"a}t Rostock, Institut f{\"u}r Nachrichtentechnik)", note="Dissertation Universit{\"a}t Rostock 2019", doi="10.18453/rosdok_id00002456", url="http://purl.uni-rostock.de/rosdok/id00002456", url="https://nbn-resolving.org/urn:nbn:de:gbv:28-rosdok_id00002456-0", url="https://d-nb.info/1293656305/34", url="https://doi.org/10.18453/rosdok_id00002456", language="English" }
